Ick pills used as tail rot??! HELP?

Okay I have Ick medicine (that uses malachite green and formalin) that I got something like 6 months ago. I was wondering if it was expired. Also, Can I use it to treat tail rot? My chalice cats have tail rot and I don't have tail rot medication so does Ich medicine collide tail rot or does it only work for Ick? Also, can glass cats handle m. green and formalin?

Answers:    6 months is satisfactory time for neither malachite green nor formalin to degrade sufficiently to have negative effects. I would recommend restocking your fish pills cabinet every couple years, however. Fortunately, you won't have to worry about whether or not the Ich medication is still moral (at least not now...), as it will not effectively treat fin rot, which is bacterial, and it isn't really something I'd trust with Glass Cats. If it is fin rot (rather than nipping), I'd recommend Maracyn 2, Maracyn TC, TC CapsulesFuran 2, Triple Sulfa, Trisulfa, etc. Whichever you choose, I'd recommend a 1/2-3/4 dose, as I hold seen effects of meds on Glass Catfish myself.
Can a gold ingots fish be tought to swim through hoops?   Any anyone every tried keeping a small bass or other freshwater fish contained by a fishtank?   What is going on beside my platies?   Im looking for a small shoal of shrimp to hold on to as a freshwater pet.?
