Is it basic to own an algae eater. My final pleco died. Tank 3 weeks into cycling.?

Note: Please don't advise about water cycle, I own learned my lesson.

3 weeks into cycling a 10 gallon tank. 10% water change every day while it cycles. 3 glofish are fine. Pleco abruptly died possibly because it didn't get satisfactory algae/ sick/something else. It was not eating the algae wafer I be dropping every other day.

Question:

I have decided to consent to the cycle complete before adding any fish. When I do that, is it called for to have an algae eater?

What will happen if I don't?

If I do get hold of an algae eater, is there one that won't grow large like the plecos?

Any suggestions will be outstandingly appreciated.
No, the pleco is not required. An algae eater in common is not required. You should have your tank away from direct sunlight, so algae shouldnt be a mass problem. It will not oblige in tank maintenance. You will still obligation to clean the tank once every week or two.

Plecos dont all achieve big. Their sizes vary from 24 inches all the way down to 4-6 inches. For a 10 gallon though, plecos wont be precisely good...

Oto cats stay small and eat algae. But most likely youd still necessitate to give them algae wafers, because most algae eaters clear the tank of it in their first few days. Id articulate for a 10 gallon, the otos would be the way to go.

Make sure you dont seize a chinese algae eater though, they look the same as the otos when smal, but those get very ample and very mean.
GOOD FOR YOU!
no it is not required to have an algee eater! Why? Because you can control the conditions of the reservoir so algee is not a problem. As you know if you propery cycle a tank, then algee isnt a problem of it growing. Ie, limiting wishy-washy, food, and having proper filtration.

If you do want algee eater then get snails, shrimp, etc. They verbs better and more kinds of algee than a pleco anyway.
Answers:    People these days, thinking algae eaters will clean up your tank for you... Algae eaters will surrounded by fact add to the population of your tank and still entail just as much maintenance as any other fish. So, unless you're up for it, don't do it. It's not necessary. Besides, 10 gallons is too small for an algae eater besides.

Don't mistake me for insulting algae eaters, I just don't like how people buy them thinking their container will be fine without their help and the fish start dying...
Q1. No. "algae eaters" don't necessarily eat algae unless they're starving.

Q2. If you don't catch an "algae eater" then you won't get an "algae eater".

Q3. for your tank 3 cory cats, which are a munificent of bottom dwelling fish, would work better then a pleco. You'll need 3 because they like to be contained by schools. Feed them blanched lettuce or zucchini. Don't expect them to live off of algae or leftovers from other fish.
its not necessary to enjoy an alage eater, especially in a 10 gallon, plecos get huge and should never be surrounded by a 10 gallon, and chinese algae eaters get big and nasty and shouldnt be in one any. Your pleco probably died because of the ammonia or nitrate levels. Plecos dont eat just algae, and whether you only have your light on for a few hours a time and your tank isnt sitting in the sunlight, you dont have to verbs about algae
You were keeping goldfish right? He could have died because he could not handle the cycling. OR DO YOU HAVE A HEATER? Seeing that you keep hold of Goldfish you don't need one.

Plecos need warm sea they are tropical fish and like the water to be 76-80 depending.

You don't need an algae cleaner. You lately need to remove the algae that grows yourself no big deal. Cut back on how long you hold the light on will help keep algae down.

As for plecos I love them. I hold 2. One Clown pleco that only gets 3-4 inches. She does not clean or even touch algae only eats the left over food and her wafers. I also have a bristle proboscis pleco they get to be 4-5 inches long and LOVE algae she is a very active pleco.

There are over 100 different types of plecos they are scheduled by an L followed by a number. My clown is known as L104 the bristle nose is L180. They come in adjectives sizes and patterns. They are fascinating fish.
The generic algae eater gets about 3 inches at adulthood. I hold had bad luck with them, though, and I regard Plecos last longer and are better for the tank. All that will happen is that additional food and algae will not get ate up and you may have to clean the container more often.
You absolutely do not requirement an algae eater. The only fish you should get for your tank are ones you similar to, not ones that are there simply to do a specific job. There are no fish that will clean your tank--quite the contrary, in fact. Every fish you add will be paid your tank dirtier.

Your pleco died because they can't withstand the cycling process. Also, your glofish aren't suitable for a 10 gallon tank--they need 20 gallons, and need to be contained by schools of at least 6.

It is never a good view to add fish to a tank while it's cycling. In fact, it's better not to cycle next to fish at all. Next time, do a fishless cycle, and you won't have to worry going on for fish dying.
dont receive those at alllll they are nastyyy and big *** hellz how bout you get like a eraser thing and verbs it?
you should get another one .you can try getting julii cory cats or chinese algea eater.algea could build up in some weeks whether you do not have an algea eater.
