Is my crowntail betta healty?
Ok, i got a new betta yesterday because my old one died. My unmarked one is a male crowntail just like my dated one. He is smaller and he is active!! he swims all the time unlike my old one. I put him within my 1 gallon after waiting 24 hours for the tank to get ready. He seem happy! I use tap waiter and i put a conditioner in their. He looks immensely healthy to me but i am new to betta fish. Tell me if u suggest he is healthy or not. His temp is 79 degreese and at nights it is about 70 degreese.
24 hours is long enough for a 1 gallon tank, ive done it MANY times before near no fish fatalities. I think your doing a very nice job! Keep up the fitting work!!
Good Luck! =)
you didnt really hang around enough time but im sure he will be fine.the tank is for a while small 2.but hes will be fine.i have a 1 gallon too! do you have a heater? i propose a mini heater for it.because its winter to help heat the dampen (duh!) he seems happy now! i consider he is happy to have a caring owner and be out of that tiny cup!
suggestions:
mini radiator (if you dont have one already)
varied diet (give him flakes/pellets and frozen bloodworms to make him even more delighted!)
a varied diet makes a healthier betta! hoped i help!
Answers: 24 hours isn't long satisfactory to let the tank cycle. Cycling a tank take about a month. Read about cycling here: http://www.firsttankguide.net/cycle.php

Plus a 1 gallon tank isn't big satisfactory for a Betta. Bettas need a minimum tank size of 2.5 gallons WITH a filter and heater.
i don't know what he looks like, but from what your describing he sounds pretty healthy to me. but watch out for the fixed water temp changes it could really stress him out.
