is this the same thing as a gravel vacuum? will it work good?
sure i really don't concern just want to get to a level 2 so i can rate peoples silly answers ahahhaha
It doesn't really look like a good product. I have a colossal aquarium and I use a simple syphon vacuum. It has a 2 " diameter clear tube at one end, and a long clear tube that goes into a container. You just start the syphon and work the end into the gravel. You can see the debris getting sucked up the tube. You simply keep moving it around the bottom until it's all clean.
I have never see one like that...

Here's what I use:

I call it a simple siphon. You put the big end surrounded by the tank, and fill it all up next to water letting any air bubbles run out of it. Then you point the open train of the siphon downwards, so it's vertical. Then you pull it up and down, up and down, really fast until the water starts running out the other close, bringing the waste with it, but not the gravel. I got it from Wal-Mart, but I don't buy fish supplies or fish from them anymore.
If you want the best and good bang for you buck when you buy a gravel vac get the Python Gravel Vac system it comes near everything and hooks up to your sink with an attachment and comes with 25ft of hose and you can suck up the junk beside it and then leave it in switch it to steep and you have no need for buckets and messes on your floors
Answers:    yes but you should bring a bigger shop vac
I use this one too

How I get hold of it started is I suck on the end, yes I know it sounds gross, but I'm careful and the syphon starts up, the gravel gets cleaned and I'm competent to add fresh water to the tank.
I don't know...It depends on the size of your pump. Pumps are sized or rate by how far they can "lift" water, The bigger the pump the higher they can lift a hose down column. Aquarium pumps are small because they don't have to "lift" water very dignified. adding the vacuum increases the work the pump has to do. Don't be suprised if you hook the vacuum up and the hose in the tube doesn't go all the bearing up.

Just remember you get what you pay for, so if it is cheap to buy it is probably cheaply made and not exceedingly good.

I tried something similar for my backyard pond in it did not work very in good health at all. The pump was not strong enough to move up the water high enough to verbs it through the vacuum filter.
no
Yes i.e. a really good one. And it will work with gravel. (best answer please)
How plentiful dampen change do i requirement?   Would this work within my reservoir?   How mature do goldfish draw from?   Plants that grow out of the hose?
