Is using Tetra Safestart (Live Bacteria) Okay for my fresh tropicsl fish container?

Has anyone used it?

thanks
Sure this is ok to use.But why lay out money on something that is after all chemically based. The easiest approach is to get some mature tank river from a friend or a good pet shop.I find this is the quickest way to start the bacteria needed. You also appear to avoid the milky bloom you get with new cistern set ups [bacteria bloom]
Hi,
yes it's ok but you may find your marine goes cloudy as billions of bacteria create what is known as bacterial bloom. This is not a unpromising thing it just looks bad but purely keep doing the partial water changes and it should disappear eventually, whether not you can buy a product from the pet shop which will clump together the blooms so they will be retained by the filter.Hope this helpfull
It'll work. Just take your time, the more the better. It will cart a couple of weeks for it to cycle completely. Just follow the directions.
Yes, bacteria products like that help speed up the cycle but other still preform tests to make sure of them chemical level before you just go dumping fish surrounded by. Some of those products state it'll completely cycle the tank almost instantly but you just obligation to make sure
Answers:    It wont harm your fish, so they are 'safe' to use.

But they wont establish the tanks cycle instantly as some relations claim. Look at it like setting up a garden, if you add seedling and fertiliser (Safestart) you can get your garden growing faster. But it still takes time for the bacteria to colonise the filter and multiply to their full number.

All the Safestart can do is assistance speed up the natural process thats going to occur anyway.
