My fish cistern stays foggy?
i've had my twenty gallon tank going for about 7 months.
i own good filters in it near great circulation.
it went through the cycle and was crystal clear until winter.
now it stays around 74 degree. im thinking thats why the water is so foggy.
its not way foggy but if you look through the side of the container its a little hard to see the other side. (its a 20 gallon long tank)
i change the hose every two weeks sometimes two and a half.
20% and i put aquasafe in it and a little saline.
(yes the salt is for freshwater, my tank is freshwater.)
so is it foggy because of the temp? or what
I'm not an expert, but these are things I try...
Check the hose down quality with a test apparatus. My tank tends to get foggy whether the PH is too low or the nitrates are high. Then I add stuff to fix what's wrong. I also add germs to the tank when it gets foggy. You might also try keeping the tank lighting off when the water gets foggy - it keep the algae from growing as much.
I have goldfish and I hear they are kind of messy, so I do a partial water transmutation once a week.
Do solely a 1/4th water change every week and a 1/2 water silver every month.Never change all the water. That is a big no no. Watch the food you use. Some food clouds the wet. Look on the front of the food it will state, "does not cloud the water."Put an underground filter in with gravel over the top plus a marine filter that hangs on the back of the tank. Keep reservoir away from windows. Follow this and you will be ok in a few months.
Answers: i had a problem similar to that too i would change the water weekly and it would still be very murky but i found out the fish i hadwere course too big for my tank and very messy (oscar in a 29 brio tank ) i got rid of them got some smaller fish and know i am verry clear
noo i dont think so my big tank is like 74 or 72 and its get 5 oscars and 3 pacu in it so its a packed tank its not cloudy a touch algae is in it cuzz its next to the window but thats it i dont use cycle generally i have it just dont use it doesnt work for me and it could be u leave the wispy on to long try leavin the light off for a while like a few days a guy at a LPS told me that could be y cuzz i have a similar problem when i had first started with fish
