My oscars hold holes contained by their fins?
We have had to stay in a hotel for 2 weeks while my house get renovated from a flood so we put their tank in the bathroom so we wouldnt have to move them. Everytime we budge back the one has a new gap in his top fin. We have had them both since they be small and it has been over a year so they dont normally m¨ºl¨¦e? What could this be? Are they fighting?
your scars have holes contained by them? Pal i would get that check out..
If it's tears in the fin, yes, they may be fighting. As they capture bigger, they will demand more territory.
If it's actually holes within the fin, like perforations in tabloid, it's more likely that the fish has a fin fungus.
Answers: As they are a year I guess they are 6" plus. So you have them in a 4' cistern with a decent cannister filter?
Assuming the water is OK and they aren't crowded
The could be war
They could be trying to breed (that is pretty rough sex)
or...it could be fin rot. I would treat with pimafix or similar
...is it oscar meyer baloney? cause i ate it whether thats the case.
Probably fin/tail rot. Check the water part, make sure ammonia and nitrites are at 0 ppm, nitrates under 20 ppm. Usually the grounds of fin/tail rot stems from poor water quality.
because they fought each other
