Mystery snail crawling completely out of hose?

Its a baby, and has never been next to another snail, so i know that its not laying eggs. It has white fuzz coming out of it ( i heard thats from stress ) hes already contained by a 10 gallon tank all by itself. how can i relieve its stress but more importantly why is it coming out of the water??
Answers:    They come out of the hose down to lay an egg clutch, or even to look for another snail, so secure the lid. If the snail has that watery fuzz it is stressed, they entail space to climb up into the air so drop the waterline a few inches (I used to have 3 inches for mine) .

Make sure your hose is not to soft and acidic, they need mineral and calcium. Hard water is best for them.
It comes out of the river a lot for air, it's a lot harder for little snails to catch air if current is high. My current at the top of the cistern is great so they often sleep above the air bubbles that way they stay moist but are above hose down level. (water comes up with the air bubbles)
