Need give support to creating a tropical community reservoir?
i want to make a really nice tropical tank, but i'm not sure what to put contained by it, the only fish i have currently is 1 bristlenose plec and a L134. I have a rekord 120, actual river area: 100cm x 30cm x 40cm (8cm taken off for thickness of chalice and lid) and holds 120 litres.
i like bala sharks, clown loaches, guppys, mollies, angel fish, 3 spot gouramis and plecos. but i dont know of any other types of tropical fish, i really need help beside this...
what should i put in the tank?

All good luck
Forget the Bala shark and the normal plecs as they'll outgrow the tank!
I know the perfect site for you. It have a community creator and you put in your tank and filter information and then can choose fish from the information base. It will tell you if they are compatible and how several you should keep and any other information you need. It also has a great forum and there's a well brought-up beginners section.

researching your fish and advice from people who are experienced beside the species you are interested in before you buy could save you seriously of trouble. Pet shops rarely have staff who know enough in the region of what they are selling! If they did they wouldn't sell goldfish or tank-busters as readily as they do!
Your reservoir is too small for the bala shark, angelfish need a deeper space.
Here is a list of plants and fish that you could do.
FISH:
4 platys (all males if you want no fry)
6 guppies(all males whether you want no fry, but they mightt be a bit agressive)
7 neon tetras
4 zebra danios
2 plecos or corydoras ( any type but research first) If you're getting a bristle nose, get a bogwod for it.
3 spot gouramis
PLANTS:
Java fern. These go moderately nice with tropical fish.
bogwood. Soak and scrub before using. MUST BE DEAD.
potted plants. Bury pots in soil.
Some moss. Looks nice on bogwood or other deco.
Remember to trim any deceased or diseased leaves. To attach moss on, use an old pantyhose and wrap around.
OTHER:
A pot. Seal hole with mask tape. Attach moss.
A roman column thing. Make sure spaces are big ample to allow all fish to get through. You wouldn't want body parts in in that.
A few fake plants. Fabric. Nice and bushy.
Good luck on your new tank!
For a heavenly community tank that size I would suggest some fancy guppies (all male- more colorful and you don't want to be overrun with fry), tetras, danios, or cories. There are different variety of all of these to choose from. You want at least six of any of these because they like to form school, except the cories you could get 3-4 of them. I would not have any more than give or take a few 18-20 fish total though, even though these all stay pretty small. I wouldn't rely too much on advice from pet stores employees nearly the fish you choose-sometimes you don't get the advice you need. If you want to dance look at some to see which ones you like first, that's fine but do research on them before you buy. Find out what size tank they have need of, if they do better in groups, temps they like, foods they call for, etc. then make your decisions. The ones I suggested are some of the most adjectives and peaceful ones- there are others of course. The push button is researching them. Hope this gives you some good ideas to start next to and good luck with your new fish :)
Answers: Between the Bristlenose and the Leopard Frog you have the bottom covered. Bala Sharks get hold of too big, Clown Loaches will eventually get too big. Angelfish being cichlids narrow your other choices and as it would own to be a pair, 3 spot Gourami are a nightmare if they decide to breed within a community tank. Mollies are a good community fish, but they can be fin nippers.
You want something visual that isn't that easier said than done to keep and isn't aggressive, so I would suggest looking at Rainbow Fish.

Then you want something to keep them company and you enjoy a lot of choices. Neon/Rosy/Pentazonal Barbs are all community fish, but caution on choosing Tigers. Cardinal Tetra are another opportunity even guppies if it's not just the name of the fish, but a species you close to.
Everybody has different tastes, 120 litres is a good size for a community container, it's just a case of choosing compatibility and taking into account the fully developed fish size.
step to all your nearest pet shops and look round and ask the staff q's about wat you like an wat you want within your tank they will be bes to advise buy a big book on all the fish/plants/disease/set up they are also advantageous for reference/queries
from my experience bala sharks are quite peacefull and good for community tanks also guppys are appropriate but they breed like rabbits(only fish lol) plecs are also good for comunity tanks
however ive found big angel fish to be bullies fin nip an such but not sure about mollies or gouramis but ask in the pet shop well brought-up luck
First of all, your tank is too small for Bala Sharks, Clown Loaches, and not towering enough for Angelfish.
Other than that, Guppies and Mollies would be fine, but stick with males as you don't want to be over run by fry, also, Mollies get surprisingly life-size and can be bullies, so if you choose those you need to take that into consideration.
There are plenty of other option out there, see what's available at your local stores, and aim for fish under 4" when full grown for a community tank.
travel to a good pet store that has lots of fish.look around...maybe ask some question.
