Need back next to fish {worth 10 points}?
Okay, I wanted to get a green spotted puffer but I don't know if it will procure along with mollies & guppies. Will it?
btw the green spotted puffer is aggressive and the other fish are not
Dont Put It In With It. It Will Eat It
It'll more than likely finale up eating the guppies, it should be okay with the mollies for a little bit unless they're really small, and approaching you said they get agressive, green spotted puffers get agressive as they get elder so if you buy them and the mollies young and let them grow up together they may be okay but its best whether you just have a species tank only to be sure
HE can catch them and guzzle them its suggested they live on there own and have 30 gal water when its reach adult hood. they are fin nippers They are Brackish also then can turn to full marien to life a full vivacity of 10 to 20 years
he will probably going to eat them because i had guppies at one point (a few weeks ago) and mainly anything would guzzle them! Maybe you can you can put the mollies and the guppies in one container and the other fish in another container. hope i helped!
Well sure looks approaching the puffer will make a meal out of guppies
jbird is precisely right. when and if you get u get your container set up. could you post it on my NEW google group :
* Group name: fishtankfolks
* Group home page: http://groups.google.com/group/fishtankf...
* Group email address fishtankfolks(a)googlegroups.com
they will attack and possibly devour the guppies but if u have a big enough container they should do fine not necessarily but if u have a big enough reservoir they should be fine and it depends on the water conditions water decorations and food varity
hope this helps Seth
i think you've answered your own question!
(btw the green spotted puffer is aggressive and the other fish are not)
Answers: The puffer would shred and kill both guppies and mollies. Green Spotted Puffers are not freshwater fish, they need big end brackish/marine species tanks.
dont get the puffer they will a moment ago kill the other fish
My GSP "Puff" is 6 years old now and he have lived peacefully with various different types of fish. He currently resides in a 55 gal. Brackish container with a Figure 8 Puffer and 3 Knight Gobies. They all respect each others space.
The space is an issue next to them. You did not mention the size of your tank. The smaller the tank, the more aggressive your GSP will be. Also at feeding time, he may tend to attack cistern mates. A full grown Molly (2 inches) will do fine unless it attacks first. This has been my problem contained by the past. Puff is cool as long as the other fish leave him alone and respect his space.
Placement of other fish should be done gradually and thoughtfully. If this brand new fish is smaller than he is, he will eat it. If the new fish shows aggression or interest in him, he will chomp through it.
A great pairing is Knight Gobies. They stay out of the way and you can usually find large ones for mart. They however are a group fish. You shoudl get a minimum of 2. I have 3 and they swim all around the container together.
I have gone against what the books tell you and placed another puffer contained by the tank. I picked the Figure 8 and added him when he was just a newborn (used a screen) so that Puff could acclimate to him. They have lived happily together for 2 years now. This is silly though because of aggression. I just got lucky so far.
Here is an awesome link that will inform you al roughly speaking the Puffer species. http://www.reefnut.com/Puffer%20Article.
