Need insist on for fish exposed to bitter river?

I am a huge animal lover and cried after seeing the condition of 5 or 6 tanks of goldfish at Walmart a few hours ago. They are dying of what appeared to be ick, but then I learned from a former pet department member of staff that it might be the acidity in the water is consumption away at their fins and making it appear to be finrot. He is the only employee in attendance that cares but he can’t really do very much to help them anymore! All Walmart care about is their bloody money! From the look of it they are just trying to save the fish (they aren’t trying terribly hard) that are not too damaged to sell and letting the others die. The dead fish hold been left in at hand for at least a day. And one week ago, an ignorant hand kill ALL the tanks of fish by cleaning them with windex or something.

Anyways, I enjoy 10 years of experience with goldfish, so I ask if I could have the fish that are unsellable so they could attain special treatment. I have to come back in a few hours to negotiate beside a manager. Unfortunately, I know very little about dealing near fish exposed to acidic water since my fish had single distilled water. So if they do allow me to have or buy the sick fish, what should I know in the region of treating fish exposed to acidic water?

Also, will their fins eventually heal same as they do beside finrot - if the damage is not too severe of course?

Thank you so much surrounded by advance for your answer and concern.
If you are able to find the fish just put them in a tank beside good water quality and treat them near melafix and pimafix.maybe ich treatment if you think they own ich.most of them will probably survive if you have good filtration and sea quality.

catx...you are wrong about the distilled water. thump water is VERY bad for fish and causes algae problems. i hold used distilled water in my reef tank for years near no problems...before i used tap water and could never hang on to a stable ph or stop algae overgrowth. distilled water with stress coat and stress zyme added is the best bet for in shape fish.stress zyme replenishes only the good minerals and enzymes that is removed by the distillation process.

whether removal of minerals and enzymes from tap water is a bad article then i have wasted alot of money buying an RO/DI component. problem is tap water contains copper, lead, mercury, flouride and chlorine not to mention other substances that are desperate for you to drink..dechlorinators are NOT a fix all for tap water.
SAndblast harmful agents off or it's gameover. OLAAAAy.
Yeah, that's downhearted to hear.. some people just don't care something like animals. It's pretty messed up. But yeah, about the fish, I don't have any experience with goldfish, simply tropical, but I would guess that it would depend on the acidity of the water that they were living contained by. Hopefully the level wasn't too low, but I do know they're pretty hardy, and can withstand variations in Ph (although it's not ideal). You should look on google to see what the effects of sharp water on goldfish are. My advice would be to just move them to a modern tank with a Ph level within the 7.2 to 7.6 range, adequate filtration (of course), and any medications that you expect might be helpful. That should help them recover. Good luck! :)
Acidic wet dissolving fins is a new one for me. It's more likely a lack of attention and lack of filtration maintenance combined with overstocking cause genuine bacterial fin rot in those fish.

If those fish were kept within spacious cycled overfiltered tanks they may recover depending on the extent of the damage.FYI any fish you remove from that store will newly be replaced with new ones to suffer. The best way to amass those fish is to boycott that store and advise friends to do the same.

As for distilled water - please don't use this for fish! It completely lacks fundamental minerals the fish need from the water. Dechlorinated mains thump water is usually best for fish. If you can't drink it freshwater fish can't live in it!
Answers:    I doubt it's due to acidic water... the symptoms for that do not include fin rot. If the marine is too acidic for them, they will have excess mucus, and a milky appearance. The only skin blight will occur around the gills. They may also exhibit odd behavior like swimming backwards or attempting to bound from the tank.

What's more likely is ammonia melt destroying their fins. This happen when one puts too many goldfish in one tank... resembling Walmart loves to do. Due to the deplorable water conditions, it's likely the rotting fins was started by ammonia and is one accelerated by actual fin rot.

I would treat them with broad spectrum antibiotics in a reservoir with no ammonia. The underlying cause of the problem has to be address first or treatments really won't do any good. If they have Ich, I would treat them for that as well, as long as I know it's Ich and not something that looks similar... such as skin mess up from high ammonia or fungus.

Their fins may grow back... it depends on how bad the spoil is. If the spines are still intact, chances are they will grow back fully. Even if they don't, a fish can live a full and thrilled life without full fins.

As a side note, distilled hose down can be acidic. It has no pH buffer and will drift to a lower pH over time. I do believe it actual starts off more on the sharp side, at a pH of 6.8 or so.
who care they are goldfish

remember to flush the toilet when they die

seriously who cares not i i trap furry animals and sell them for money
