Any other semi-aggressive breed will be fine with your Gourami's. I keep Platies and Pink Kissing Gourami's surrounded by my 25 gallon tank. Mollies would also be ok with Gourami fish.

Keep in intellect that most smaller fish are schooling fish and do well in groups of three or more. And be sure not to over-crowd your reservoir or your fish won't grow to their potential size.

I don't recommend Cichlids or Betta's
Apart from avoiding fish which are a similiar size or longfinned, there is really not that several issues. I have a very aggressive male pearl gourami who be removed from my larger tank as he bit off another gourami's feelers, but he lives fine beside guppies and a mollie. I would suggest you get a few tetras, my favourites are serpae or black phantom, but so long as you get at most minuscule 6 of any type of small tetra they create a fantastic schooling effect. Other small fish which work are danios, white clouds, all types of catfish, mollies and platies. I would suggest you grasp a school of smaller fish and one or two catfish if you have live plants. I enjoy found that dwarf gouramis are bullied by the regular size, but dwarf cichlids are fine. Hope this helps =-)
A institution of zebra danios would work. Most tetras in a school would be ok. I'd stay away from neons and possibly lean more towards black skirt tetras. Cories are also a good choice.

Kuhlis do good in groups of 4, construct sure you have hiding spaces for them. They may not be the best tank mate for Gourami's which tend nip but usually they nip each other.
Gouramis tend to be fin and tail nippers so you have to be careful putting them in near fish with big fancy tails, such as guppies, or a betta. However, mollies, platys, most tetras, danios would all do fine. In my 29, I enjoy a gold gouarmi, several tetras, a few mollies, and glofish. Oh and a betta. They all live well together.
Answers:    any other standard community fish will be good, gouramis are really peaceful but males bicker btw respectively other, Ive kept them with tiger barbs, several types of cories, hatchetfish, khuli loaches, platies, rainbowfish, tetras, and danios before, but anything thats a fitting community fish do good, other than bettas (bettas hate gouramis, its a warren organ thing), gouramis are awesome, the opaline I have now loves to eat out of my mitt

Edit: as many as you want (or as you can w/o overcrowding) khulis need to be in groups of 3 or more though

repress: yea if you had 2 gouramis and 3 khulis you could have a couple more things contained by there with em too
I have those exact 2 fish surrounded by my 10 gal. They are good community fish, I have kept mine with several crustaceans and they do pretty in good health, I haven't experimented with any other types though.
