Neon tetra staying absent from shoal on its own?
We have five neon tetras.Usually they stay together but one is now always on its own.It doesnt seem to be to be growing at the same rate as the others either
Answers: Dont worry, i own 12 neons and there are a couple that like to be by them selves sometimes. They will swim with the shoal though, normally when i am doing water changes and sometimes in the morning and afternoon earlier feeding time. But tetras are supposed to be in groups of 6+ so try that, get a couple more. Also i too own a couple tetras that are significantly smaller than the others, but male fish are smaller than the females, so yours is probably just a male. Best of luck!
Maybe the others be bullying it or it could be ill. People and animals (including fish) grow at different rates, just tell Ne-yo neon not to be worried and cause new friends.
