Ok, my algae eater is disappeared?

i can't find him, and there is no where to hide for him basically gravel beside my filter and 1 sword fin plant. where is he :*(
Well it depends how big your reservoir is and if its big it's probably hiding somewhere in your tank. Or check losing the filter or somewhere on the filter. One time, when I was little my betta fish gone fish missing too! And I think it be because of my grandma's cat or maybe since the fish kind of near the sink, it jump out or something.
my algae eater once go missing for like a week...and she (named Hermione) didn't exactly run absent. Sometimes, i guess fish, like most pets, get spooked. So sometimes she thrashed about on the chalice tank sides if i startled her. About a week later i found her--she be as stiff and dry as cardboard behind my door. there was a tiny little gap where the tropical fish heater was inserted, and i suppose she escaped in that. If you are absolutely positive that your algae feeder is not behind a plant, or somehow attached to the tank lid, check at the rear the tank and perhaps behind a door.
Maybe he is in the gravel or the filter? It have happened to some of my fish.
Oh sweetie,
If you have other fish in the tank near him and he has passed away you wont even find the skeleton. The other fish would have nibble on him until there was nothing not here. If it was a bala shark I would tell you to try looking on the floor around the tank lead to he jumped. Not knowing what your filter system looks like and the intake spout I might suggest that whether he was little and if he was colourless he may have been sucked into the filter Sorry : {(
Answers:    No where to hide? What big-hearted of algae eater is it? The Chinese algae eaters are AMAZING jumpers. Is there any way he could enjoy jumped out?

Do you have a Cat? Cats can be pretty tricky and good at catching fish.
Have you checked the filter?

How big be he?
Do you have kids visit the house? Sometimes kids do weird things.
