Question in the order of my unresponsive Platy?

When my platy died (I called him Fishy. Very original, I know), he sank to the bottom of the reservoir, with all his fins sticking out like they did when he be swimming around.
My sister's Rosy Barbs floated to the top with their bellies up.
I'm just wondering why Fishy sank and the barb floated?

This question is making me sound like a fish assassin. I'm not. I love my fish. I'm just new to the fish game, that's adjectives!
It just depends on whether their swim bladder is full. There is an organ in a fish's body that holds air, call the swim bladder. If a fish has just died, it is probably full, so the fish float. If some time has olden, the swim bladder empties and the fish sinks.
My guppy just died today and when I found it he was stuck to the filter and when I pulled him stale of the filter he sank to the bottom. It's because of the swim bladder, your sisters fish might have had a swim bladder infection which cause it to float. Your fish (and possibly mine) must of had a perfect swim bladder, but a different sickness, or injury.
Answers:    The swim bladder thing is correct, it's a bit like you drowning though. You will sink, because you are heavier than sea, but after awhile gases will build up in your stomach and you will come to the surface. The gas will then escape from your bottom and mouth and you will sink again. That will keep happening till you decompose or something eat you.
