Recommended filter for 50 gallon container?

I have a 50 gal. tank that I am setting back up after have down for a year.. I use to have a magnum 350 pro filter but I gave it away when I took the container down before, due to snail eggs everywhere.Plus it was very unyielding to clean..Very messy clean up. Anyway, I am setting up again and thinking about getting the Cascade 1000 Canister Filter - 265 gph - up to 100 gallon.. I hold read reviews on it and come up with more good reviews than bad.. So, I thought I would ask adjectives of y'all. Was also thinking of this filter because I found it on ebay for 40.00 less than everywhere else...Is the Cascade a good filter? Is it silent? Easy to change media? If anyone has a better model for a filter please let me know! Thanks
I really resembling the AquaClear line of filters. We used Whisper filters for over 30 years and thought that they be great until we made the change to an AquaClear. We were using an AquaClear 110 in a 55 gal. reservoir. This probably seems a little "over done" for the size of the tank, but it also depends on what nice of fish you are keeping.
Cascade is a good brand, but so is Whisper! I'm more familiar with Whisper than I am near Cascade, as I have used Whisper more than it. Whisper filters are quiet, remarkably easy to clean, as the filter cartridges are right there surrounded by front of you, and you just need to reach within and rinse them off! As you know, you should be getting a filter that cleans for up to 65 gallons or more, so I don't need to bother you there. Good luck!

look up reviews and what not the link up above sell it for only 109 while even the cheapest place sells it for 130, it wont last long i suggest its uber cheap there. I hear that performance for price renas are the best. Ive been told to make the addition of some silicone grease on those o rings to prevent leakage other than that i hear theyre awesome. If youve got the money jump with eheim theyre loaded wit neat features, but not too sure on implementation and durability
I wish I knew about that filter for you, but I do know where on earth you can go and get tons of ideas and reviews.

http://www.aquariacentral.com whether you go to their freshwater equipment, products, & diy section you will get tons of great counsel.

I use this site alot and the people there have used probably any filter you find out nearby (plus they make their own lol)

Good Luck!
