also my Redtail Botia Loach change colors from a baby blue to a greenish blue
Answers: Yes they play dead, and yes changing colors is commonplace for them. It's what they do when they're stressed about something. They get stressed if they don't enjoy enough places to hide, or if they don't enjoy other botias in the tank. These like to be within schools, and they can pick on other fish if they're alone. My friend had three fish kill by her red tailed botia until the store where she bought it told her they shouldn't be kept alone. But by then, it was too deferred for her other fish.
