Stocking reservoir and what to obtain first?
Okay, I'm getting fish Saturday for my 10 gallon tank and I'm thinking twice about my fish choice because I want to know if there's something else I might close to better. I'm planning to get (not all at once)
* 1 Dwarf Gourami
* 2-3 Albino Cories
* 5-6 Tetras- which type I do not know yet
First of all- is this a obedient choice or do you suggest something else? I really would like at least one "flat-looking" fish similar to a discus, although i know those are too big for a 10 gallon. I really don't want to get more than one gourami because I've heard that they may not get along and I really don't want any crucial territorial issues. I know the gourami might eat the tetras. I'd get all Albino Cories but I'd approaching some kind of fish that would fill in the middle and/or top of the container, too.
And my second question is which species should I get first Saturday? I really want to attain the Cories but if the tetras or Gouramis are better to put in then I'll get hold of those. Thanks for your (serious) answers!
Forget the dwarf gourami and the corydoras. Your cistern is only big enough for 5 or 6 small tetras nothing else.
Buy a container at least twice the size and then you could put in the fish you propose
sorry but the fish you listed will not singular NOT get along but the tank will be overstocked. I suggest sticking beside the tetras. Cories would not do well with the others because cories like slightly colder hose down whereas the other like warmer. Either that or try platys. the somewhat flat and round. Guppies are attractive and jammy.
Answers: if you know what you're doing then that setup is perfectly fine. i hold done it before except the dwarf gourami(i have a krib instead). the dwarf gourami might show a moment or two bit of aggression, but that's normal in most community tanks. there's plenty space for all your fish to live comfortably and as long as you do your 25% weekly water changes your cistern setup will workout well. good luck.
You have to realize that a 10 gallon is a extraordinarily small tank. I dont think you would be able to fit adjectives these fish into that tank. Maybe stick with just the tetras. Look up profiles for the fish you're considering. Check the links.

A 10 gallon tank will not house all of these fish comfortably. You cannot put the Gourami in near anything else except for maybe 1-2 tetra's. If you really want a Gourami, then you should win it - and only it. Add it in on Saturday, and then see how it's doing. Next week, whether you want, add 1-2 tetra's, whichever breed/type you think. Just don't overcrowd your Gourami!
These fish will not get along. I mean the ones that you want. I suggest guppies. They will multiply
