Upset more or less tot brislnose dying from be eat by snail?
I found my poor 2cm baby bristlnose that i saved from my 150 litre (40 gal) community being MUNCHED ON by my bloody apple snail, Im comparatively upset now and was not expecting him to EAT him. My bristle was rather big...for a baby...
I have a betta in the filter 10 gal with my apple snail (hes the only fish with him), is near a chance my snail will eat him? I loved my snail.and now i revulsion him. I put so much effort into keeping my little fella alive and now hes dead. I never getting a snail again! Grrr...im so angry. So is my betta 'safe'?
The snail will only have caught a B.N. if it be sick or dieing.already. They are quick and alert little fish, even a tiny one would escape a snail.
Something else killed it, the snail was lately disposing of the evidence.

I'm sorry going on for your fish, but I can tell you that your snail did not kill your fish. Snails are scavengers, not predators and they are exceptionally peaceful. If your snail was eating your catfish, it's because the catfish be already dead or very close to being unmoving, the snail had nothing to do with it. Sometimes fish die for reason we can't explain. Your betta is perfectly safe with the snail.

I too am thinking conceivably the fish was already dead, and the snail was basically trying to do his job and clean up the tank. I dont know much going on for apple snails, but ive had pond snails and trumpet snails in my tank for years and never once see them bother the fish.
You own to be kidding! I am so sorry for you! Don't know much about the Apple snail (or snails at all). Are you sure that the snail kill him? I am thinking maybe he died for another reason and the snail got onto him after he be already dead. I thought the Apple snails ate mainly plants anyway but I don't know for certain. Most of all I wanted to say I'm sorry :)
