Wats the most mixture of fish i can own within my 100 litre tropical fish cistern?
I had fish in the past, and I had lots of guppies. I started off buying 6, and they had babies so I done up with about 60!
Guppies are pretty and the babies are cute. Don't buy any really big fish to go beside them though because they will eat them! Also those catfish type cleaning fish are really good. Sometimes the guppy parents eat the tot fish though!
The absolute most fish you could have in this container is about 25 inches, but less is better.
Lets say the fish you want to buy are adjectives about 2 to 3 inches each (at maximum length). This means at most you can put 12 fish contained by your tank.
Every aquarium keeper wants lots of different kind of fish, but your fish will be happier in a group of their own species. Mollies, barbs, platys, barbs, tetras, and so on will ALL be happier surrounded by a group of four, absolute minimum.
It would be better if you had six of one species, and six of another, and do your research so that you know these fish are compatible.
You could do something similar to this:
1 male betta (contrary to popular opinion, they are very moral community tank members)
4 red (or any other kind) platys
6 golden barbs
small ones like guppies, tetras and stuff approaching that.
personally if i was you below par get a blue gourami and a few guppies.

Answers: as before stated 15 to 20 fish depending on size, however if you do choose the smaller variety such as guppies and tetras mind your Ps and Qs if you get the urge to add larger fish such as angels and gouramis.
i own added a male and female gold gourami they are very soon quite large and unfortunately own become quite aaggressive towards the others.
The good news is that i presently have the perfect excuse to buy another aquarium as my wife (not very enthusiastic) agreesthat awfully soon they may start feasting on the glow lightsand neon's i have to add on we have been fortunate up to press no fin nip no losses and the angels(quite large) seem to be at peace in the community.
