What fish should I catch?

I have a 28 gallon tank. It is layered with gravel and 2 bamboos, plus 2 fix plants. There is a pot in the corner.
Currently, all I have is 4 small womanly guppies and 3 platies in that tank.
I was thinking a fish that school, low maintenance. I would like a pleco or corydora, or some type of sucking fish.
Neon tetras, and zebra danios I want. I only own $30 bucks to spend.
So what should I get?
Oh yeah and please provide soe informational websites.
Thanks in advance. :)

Beware with "sucking fish" - you may end up with a Chinese Algae Eater/Golden Algae Eater which grows up and up to be rather predatory.

Other than that you are on the right track with stocking. I presume the tank has fully cycled immediately? Go with a nice shoal of at least 6 Neon Tetras and see what change is not here over for 3-4 Corys (such as Bronze or Sterbai - these are the more common ones, avoid Pandas as they're quite delicate).
Ok well for neon's you should wait until your reservoir is up and running for at least 3 months because these fish will not tolerate any rise in ammonia or nitrites. You could get some Zebra danios whether you like, they can handel bad water all right and are hardy easy to care for. They do best in school of 7 or more and in odd numbers. Same as the neon's. As far as plecos go you should catch a Birstelnose or another kind that stays small like a gold nugget, DON'T go and get any common plecos as they can grow anywhere from 1 feet to 3 feet.

Check out this site beneath the freshwater section to see basically whats available. Every pet store Carry's most of this sites fish, if they don't consequently they are not well stocked. this site offers a brief description of each fish, whether you want to no more about it just stick the fishes name surrounded by google. Good Luck

I hoped this helped..
i think those are pretty apposite choices already
the corydora or pleco
but asince
you already have the tropical community fish (ex. guppies)
i would suggest you get more of those (without overcrowding, they breed swiftly!) and make sure any other fish are not aggressive

Answers:    hey plecos are great but put together sure you don't get the cheap "common plecos" as they tend to return with big (like two feet big) and they can be a little aggressive towards smaller fish and they like to uproot plants. i discovered this the concrete way. i just got a contemporary pleco called a gold nugget pleco and his max size should be somewhere around 6 ". you could also look for rubber nosed plecos as they stay pretty small too.

i hold long finned zebra danios.. they're never boring
i also have rummy nosed tetras which are a really great schooling fish. i have 19 of these guys, but they do better surrounded by established tanks, as they can be a bit sensitive. what about some freshwater shrimp? like cherry or apparition shrimp... as long as the other fish you have in your tank are not predators after they would be very happy living in your cistern dealing with algae and excess food.

the best part about keeping an aquarium (i think) is finding unknown fish that will do well in your tank. Take your time and do your research and take heed not to overcrowd your tank. introduce them slowly too.. don't go out and shock your tank near a ton of fish all at once, it will throw off your carefully cycled river and you might get an outbreak of ich.
get 1 pleco, maybe 3 tiger barb, after that your stocked
