What is the best algae eater for consumption brown algae?
What is the best algae eater for brown algae and algae in general? Snails, plecos, ottos, chinese algae eaters, shrimps which ones?
Shrimps. They seem to eat adjectives the time. you can put ottos and plecos too.
To me, otocinclus, amano shrimp and nerite snails are the holy trinity of algae eaters. Big plecos get lazy and would rather put away fish food then algae.
They're also all very transfixing livestock to keep.

Chinese Algae Eaters do nothing apart from poop and suck on the sides of the glass (oh and possibly suck the slime coat off some fish).
Other Plecos grow too big and don't eat algae as capably.
