What is this gooey stuff (snails)?
I have a aquatic snail jar and they are very beaming. Well, today i found a gooey blob just about marine level. I think they're eggs. It reminded me a LOT of aloe vera goo. it has teeny little black spots. can anyone comfort?
Answers: ooh those are the eggs, please take them out unless you want a million little babies in the tank =P
Those little aloe vera resembling bubbles are the snail eggs. I am guessing that you own mystery snails because mystery snails like to lay eggs above the water line. Normally, apple snails will hold about 20-50 baby snails in a hatch. However, whether you have pond snails the ones that are located in the wild, later the egg sac may contain up to 200 to 500 eggs. Pretty crazy stuff. If you don't have fish that will eat baby snails resembling greens spotted puffer fish, loaches, goldfish, or other fish (not cichlids), then I recommend that you get ride of the eggs. It will take just about two weeks for them to completely hatch, but it is mainly dependent on the temperature, humidity, and availability of light. The electric fire the better, but make sure the sac stays out of the water. I would instinctively like to congratulate you for successfully spawning baby snails, I am trying my best to spawn snails too, but I have have no luck. Anyways I hope this helped.
