What munificent of fish should i put contained by my reservoir?
i have a 120 gal tank. it's been a year since my arowana died. my cistern was empty since. yes..so depressed, i didn't want to buy another fish. haha. im going to set up my tank for freshwater. what nice fish should i put within the tank? frontosa maybe? i was thinking almost peacock bass and a redtail catfish. any suggestions? thanks
put a catfish in there... they are awsome fish
peacock bass arent a good choice for anything under 200 gallons. they might be able to live next to frontosas, but not in a tank that size. also, be aware that peacock bass are the most voracious fish ive ever seen. I own several accounts of people paying $5 a WEEK to feed them.
As for the redtail catfish, there is no agency. I know their charm, and I love them and then some, but they are simply impossible to keep in anything smaller number than 2500 (yes 2500) gallons. they get far too large, and are far too voracious, for it to be possible.
with a 120 you could do any # of things but there are 3 fish i love
tinfoil barb
clown loaches
and bala sharks
they are all very active fish and fun to scrutinize
Well that is a large tank so I would jump with big fish like oscars, tinfoil, barbs, angelfish, discus, gourami, loches, plecos, catfish, sharks, ect be in motion crazy with it

Some peacock mix malawi eye biter, C.Moori, electric yellow & Blue.
We have an adjectives Male Malawi cichlid 180 gallon tank. They are all gorgeous, hardy fish that usually live 10-15 years. They are colorful and own real personalities. And, honestly, we have have 0 aggression issues in this tank. Everyone is doing well and enjoy the space! I would recommend that to anyone with a large enough reservoir to do it right. Good luck.
