What store should i buy small Plecos at?

your local wal-mart has them for about five dollars a piece and the ones i own got from there have last. walmart also has a 90 return policy on dead fish
what kind of "small pleco"? a zebra pleco is small but isnt cheap by any vehicle, you can get a "small" common pleco which grows large but is contained by virtually every petstore but I agree with fishman a local breeder is the best place to buy, although not always the cheapest but usually other better condition. Condition varies store to store, I have 2 petsmarts 1 petco and a local "mom and pop" type store around me and I usually singular buy from 1 of the petsmarts, the local store has a better variety, but they suck and are overpriced and the petco and other petsmart just enjoy retarded employees that dont know the difference btw a guppy and an oscar (not really but they are brainless on the subject)

First of all, those "small" Pleco's will grow into big Pleco's, so do not buy one unless you have at lowest possible a 55 gallon tank.
PetSmart is a very good place to shift to. I do not live in the US, and I do not have PetCo's in my city, but you could progress try that out. Usually, it depends on the store. The PetSmart that is nearby you could be very crappy, so it is fundamental go go around and visit the within reach pet stores.

yeah petsmart is better than petco. more of a selection and all the fish look improved there.
Answers: when you voice "small" pleco... do you mean young? or one that stays small? there is a HUGE difference (around 20" actually).
where on earth is the cheapest place? depends... sometimes local breeders charge waay more (or, they don't exist... fish man, not everyone has local breeders around them). chain stores often enjoy the cheapest prices because they bring tons of money in and can afford cheaper prices. check out a few stores in you area.

what store keeps it in good condition? around me, petsmart. but whether there is a petsmart around you it may be filled with workers who know nil about fish and don't care to know. so really the only instrument is to check stores in your area for healthy looking fish (in ALL the tank, behind the wall they're all connected). if you DO hold a local breeder, they will most likely be the winner for this category.
Get a dwarf clown pleco, they conquer 6' in size, smaller than their cousins.
