Why does my Guppies pick on my Goldfishes in a minute? Isn't it vice versa?
My guppies like to nible on my goldfishes back fin now. I dont know why. Before it be the goldfish who wanted to eat them. That was really odd. My goldfish just sitting there and doesn't care whether he gets nibled until his friend goldfish comes by. I dont get it.
the guppies are fighting back lol, however its odd you own a goldfish with them, goldfish are cold water, can tolerate warmish water but prefer cold hose down, while guppies are tropical and cant stand cold water and love warm water. not truism its impossible just saying i've never known someone to try lol
Guppies and Goldfish need completely different water temperatures and enjoy different food requirements. You should separate these fish as soon as you can. If your tank is big enough for your two goldfish (29 gallons for fancies 40 breeder for comets) afterwards buy a smaller tank for the guppies or consider giving away some fish. You could give your goldies to a friend beside a pond for example.
very well i have heard that other fish like to devour the slime off of goldfish i think that might be what your guppies are doing so if you can takke your guppies out from your goldfish
You'd be surprise how aggressive guppies can be. This sounds pretty common to me. If this is getting to the point where the guppy has totally ruined his fins, you really should put the goldfish in another reservoir and give him a chance to regrow his fins or else he might die.
Answers: You have goldfish and guppies within the same tank? Not a good mix. Goldfish do not resembling the high temps that the guppies require. The guppies are probably attracted to the long fins of the goldfish or something. You don't mention what size tank you have, but you inevitability at least 60 gallons for 2 goldfish with high filtration. The guppies inevitability about a gallon of water per fish minimum, with bake (78F) and filtration.=
