Why would an Oscar fish stop consumption?
My fish hasn't ate in over 2 months.
Is there somthing wrong?
If he hasn't eat in over two months, I think he would have be dead by now. Are you sure he hasn't be eating the leftovers, which have sunk to the bottom? Because... he seriously would be unresponsive, lethargic, etc. If he seems happy and sound, then he probably is eating.
Hi When was the last time you did a hose down change? What size tank are you keeping your Oscar in? How plentiful other fish are in the tank with him? More information would be paying special attention. I would suggest you do 25 percent water change weekly. Oscar bring very large and can very summarily pollute a small tank very quickly.
Answers: Check your water element.
A buildup of Nitrate in the water will suppress their appettite and generally clear them sick with no obvious symptoms.
They may still eat plenty to to survive, but wont have that hearty appetite that a well Oscar should have.
