Will adjectives fertilzation affect my discus?
I added some Iron and Potassium liquid fertilzer to my 130g tank. I also did a 10% water relocate. Now my discus look like they are sick. I am wondering if it was the hose change or the fertilizer's that I used. I've checked all my parameters, everything seem fine. I just can't understand why my discus acting wierd. They are slowly moving around the tank. I shut in a few of em struggling to swim normally, they kind of float on thier sides. Also they are not eating. Any suggestion on what I can do? Prior to my dampen change, they where only within my tank for 1 1/2 weeks. I just got them 4 of them where on earth from Taiwan and my friend told me to let them settle in to the tank but its nearly been 2 weeks of them not eating. I am getting worried and feel really helpless. I do not want to lose them, please help out. Thanks.
Answers: I think that maybe you went to swiftly with the fertilizer and then the water redeploy this will stress them out big time. Try feeding them frozen brine that you have thawed out. Most fish love frozen food and discuses are no exception. Then only give them time. You could try to add a water conditioner that help coat their bodies with a slime for protection. This may help too. Good Luck.
