18 months ripened horse have need of particle?
I don't feed any of my current horses grain anymore (5 year olds) and they do very okay without it, but I am getting a coming 2 year old (May 2009) later this week, and want to know whether grain is necessary at this stage with angelic quality grass hay and pasture (some alfalfa in the fields). Some people own said that he needs grain, others say that whether quality hay is given that's enough. Any suggestions? Does anyone have any personal experience?
when my colts start eating pellet with mom then i move them over starting with a small amount. My 5 month outdated was eating a full scoop. that's what he is on immediately.
i would feed him omelene 200 until he turns five this will help build up his body and give him the supplements he requirements to grow properly, lets all remember horses grow until they are about 5 years antediluvian I even feed them grain after that age i just drop it down to the omelene 100 that track they do not get to fat.
Answers: Hi, yeah, we enjoy about 30 horses here, all ages from newborns to antediluvian horses 22yrs+ and they are never fed grain, just apposite quality hay with alfalfa, some green feed, and they are full-bodied and doing great even in the very cold winters we get here. Some are if truth be told getting a little fat from it (they an eat as much as they close to and live out in the pasture 24/7). Hope this answers your question. And I currently have a 20month outmoded QH on the same feed and he is healthy and nouns.
