1 month antediluvian calf have shaved spots?

He is healthy well adjusted, plays but still have bald spots do I need to be concerned or will he out grow
I construe he will out grow it... My friend has calves and they sometimes get that stuff
I hold steers and sometimes they do develop bald spots around that age. Its not the nutrition because I have other calves the same age and they never get bald spots. out of thirteen calves that I have 3 of them developed the bald spots and the fur grew put money on no problem. I believe they develop this when they are shedding their baby fur and the new hair did not grow contained by as fast. I would not worry as long as the calf is eating right and is digesting probably (no scours). Calves are tremendously resilient.
Answers:    If the spots are round I would check for ringworm...
From source:
"Ringworm is most frequent on the head and nouns, but it may be found over the entire body in severe cases. Infection spreads from the center outwards and resulting in a circular lesion. Scabs fall from elder lesions leaving a ring with a bald area in the center. Hence, the name ringworm." Read more at source site!

just saw this on animal planet not to long ago...he is not getting enough nutrition surrounded by his deit wether it be hes not eating enough and being stubborn or the characteristic of the food he has been eating is poor. within the episode they ended up changing it's diet to a more nutritionally correct one and he soon in attendance after grew hair...if he seems fragile at all like wobbling when he walks of walking slowly...you want to egt on top of it A.S.A.P as it is losing vital energy through poor nutrition needed for survival
usually they have a full set of hair as soon as they are born, so are they completely bald- or basically less hair in those areas?

whether it's just less hair- then he's simply loosing his baby hair- also he's only 1 month- give him time, but whether your're still concerned after a few weeks, call your vet.

in the mean time- you could research 'alopecia contained by cattle'

hope that helps, and hope he is better soon
you got this within the wrong section
