What experience own you had with bog spavins? What did you find worked and did not work for you?
BOGS HAVE TO BE LIVED WITH,, OR MANAGED AS BEST YOU CAN ,,THE BEST IVE FOUND IS TO RUB WITH BEAGLE OIL AND WRAP UP TO KEEP WARM, THEY ARE CAUSED BY A TEAR IN THE MEMBRANE AROUND THE JOINT THAT LEAKS THE JOINT LUBE FLUID OUT IN TO A POCKET,IT CAN BE MANAGED BUT TH ATS WHAT IS NEEDED,
My horse has never had it, but I know a horse that get it. Her horse got Bog Spavin's she didn't know at first, but she did call the vet. The vet said its when the knee and reciprocated fill with liquid and hold to be drained. If it returns, it could mean something worse.
Although, there are all different types. When this happen, you are not to ride your horse for 4-6 weeks.
Answers:    All a bog spavin is, is a bursal sac full of synovial fluid that forms to reduce friction close at hand the joint. If the vet has xrayed and not found cartilage changes contained by the joint, then it is virtually more of a blemish than anything else.Sometimes rubbing liniment over the area will cut back on its size, but for the most part it is something you just have to live near. Magnet therapy has been studied and not be scientifically proven to have any benefit. Joint supplements help if the integrated cartilage is degenerating. Boots won't do any good, and can cause more problems. The most important thing is to rest the hocks if needed, and reduce the stress placed on them through work. If the horse is doing work that requires sturdy hocks, afterwards you risk further injury to the tendons, ligaments, or the joint itself.
