Breastplate versus Breast collar?

I'm getting into jumping my horse. What is the difference between a breastplate and a breast collar since both prevent the saddle from slipping?
A breast collar is used with horses next to big or no withers to keep the saddle from slidding back. A breast collar is used for alike thing but people how jump ample fences like grand prix jumper because it offers more freedom of movement
Its like thing. If your saddle fits properly you won't need one unless your horse has gargantuan wither. You could also use a no-slip pad instead. Check out Dover or Stateline for one. They go under the saddle wad and is a much less gaudy option to a breast plate.
Answers:    The breastplate attaches to the dee rings on your saddle and you can add snaps to the straps that aid in the luxury of attaching it to your saddle. Besides those straps you also have the center strap that attaches to your girth. So, you have 2 straps that hold the saddle in place and one larger one for the girth.

With a breast collar, you enjoy straps that attach to the off side of your girth and the near side and hopefully it makes certain your saddle stays forward.

I haven't used a breast collar in AGES! I got and still use my first breast plate in '72 for schooling.
