3 - Did you introduce it to yourself or did someone tell you about it?
4 - Some people believe that putting the chains and heavy horse shoes on the horses to make them step higher is really wrong. Do you agree next to this or no? Explain.
5 - Explain why they park out and how.
6 - do you have any pics of your horse?
Hope you enjoyed my little questions!
Answers: 1. Saddlebreds adjectives the way but Morgans are a close 2nd.
2. 16 years (At a nation level, won at the Worlds when I was younger, Top Ten at Nationals)
3. It be the closest barn from my house.
4. I believe that the use of shoeing techniques when done correctly is no more harmful than shoeing techniques for other disciplines and should other be done for what is best for the horse and not what the trainer/owner wants. Chains/leather straps do not hurt a horse unless they have been sored so person in a industry (Saddlebreds) that does NOT sore their horses then I have no problem near it. Of course this is when both are used thoughtfully and not by inexperienced horseman because for both chains and foot/toe length/weight less is always more.
5. Saddle Seat horses where bred because they are the just what the doctor ordered saddle (riding) horse. Parking out was a way to make it easier for the rider to mount (because it lowered their back) and not allow the horse to step sour until asked (ideally of course ;-P). To ask a trained horse to park out you just tap them on the shoulder or losing the elbow and say out. Some horses are trained a little differently but that's the basic route to ask.
6. I no longer have a show horse and I don't have any pictures of my retired horse while he was showing on my computer.
Addition for the untutored:
Stretchies do not make the horse step higher. You can not make a horse use them whether they do not want to. If the horse decided to pull against them (just like the rubber fastening thing for people's chests) it develops and strengthens the muscles so the horse is stronger and more able to lift sophisticated. So they don't make the motion they just help the horse find stronger so it can use its legs to the best of their ablilty. They are only used to warm up on the horses that use them because if used any longer than can alteration a horse's mouth and way of going.
I prefer NSH (Arab Saddlebred cross)
I rode for a total of about 6-7 years and showed at Arab regionals
I learned to ride at a show barn and started riding hunter but my moment horse was better at country plesure
I never used chains or big shoes on my horse but we did use fleece lined cuffs on the front feet that be connected with surgical tubing. We called them 'stretchies'. They encourage greater leg action.
Arab's and Arab crosses don't park out. Those horses that do are trained by tapping the shoulder with the leg or thrash until the horse steps forward. It is to better show off the horses conformation.
I do have pictures of that horse, but not online. They are from before the days of digital cameras (the 90's)
