Can Horses Get Really Sick From Drinking Fizzy Drinks?

my horse enjoys the occasional gulp of rasberry fizzy, or lemonade, is it really really bad for her? or just a touch un healthy?
No it isn't, as long as you don't give them to much. I sometimes put a little gingerale in my horses hose bucket, he loves it! He has never become sick or anything, and my instructor says its fine to!
Just to be safe...

Don't put something foreign surrounded by your horse's body if you don't know how he/she will react!. Since horses are incapable of regurgitation, their bodies can not reject an unwanted substance if they ingest it. This could potentially indicate big problems because there's no way to induce vomiting and they can get very sick.

Remember, some soft drinks/substances ect., are lone intended for human consumption. A horse's physiology is a lot different. I know you're just having fun, but muse about this in the future.
Answers:    People have been feed horses carbonated beverages for centuries. The famous survior of Custer's Last Stand, Comanche, was fed beer on a regular proof.

I had an old QH who not until he was 10 NEVER ate/drank anything that wasn't fluent. Then one day while I was talking to a friend external of his stall, I found this big fuzzy lip attached to my Pepsi can. He LOVED his occassional cola even until the day he died. AND it had to come out of a can, he wouldn't drink it out of a bucket.
Well I've never hear of people giving their horses anything fizzy, and I'm working at a big boarding facility right now, and also going to school for Veterinary Technology (graduate this May!). I do know that because of how the horse is set up, they cannot burp, which is one idea why they can get colic easily if they own gas build up in the stomach, they can't burp it up like we do. I personally wouldn't tender anything fizzy to any of my horses.
Small amounts are fine. Just remember though that horses can not burp and really immense amounts would kill. Not due to the toxins but because the gases build up and can actually rupture the horse's stomach. But the amounts you are chitchat about pose no threat. Just don't give them a gallon or so in a trough to drink.

Just resembling humans horses need treats and such in moderation. This is true even when what you are feeding is in actual fact good for them (at least in the amounts you are feeding). Only grass and untaught forage should be fed in really large quantity (feed a horse as much grain as it wants and most horses will founder themselves or eat until they bloat).
I don't think it could be too bad though I don't really know. My trainer tend to put Diet Coke in her hand and let the horses drink it whenever they hoof it up to her. Nothing has happened to them, so I don't think carbonated drinks can be too unpromising for them.
my trainer says that it's never a good idea to nurture horses things that are not natural. you would be surprised how many things are toxic to horses.

horses cannot burp so it's not great for them to be drinking soda besides the fact that it have so much sugar in it which is also bad for them. lemonade is very bitter which is very hard on a horses stomach. this can cause something as gentle as a stomach ache or as dangerous as a colic.

also, if you do any showing near your horse, these kind of things often come up as illegal drugs within drug tests.
I think L H is right.
