Help getting a horse geared up to show?

Ok what should I do to horse to get it ready for show like halter type..It is a quarter horse, I am conversation about neat grooming tricks to really make him stand out it a crowd..

I have a black QH mare i showed :) i made her stand out by bathing the night before , sheeting through the night, banding/ braiding?, next i use "show sheen" or oil based horse stuff lol and towel down after fly spraying and after every class apply a bit of stuff to a towel and reapply :)
