Help Please Riding Problem?
I have a 6 year old Quarter Horses and i hadn't rode him in roughly speaking a month when i rode him today he stared throwing a fit and wanted to go backbone to the other horses witch is a mare and his a gelding, but my Question is- How can i get him to Focus on me and not her?
Question-And how can i get him when i say whoa to stop and not start finance up all the time?
Answers: This may be terribly boring but I had to do it too...step back to ground training again..even if its just to remind who's the boss. Lead stripe and lounging work will really help. even extra groom time. Then when your in the saddle do a bunch of transitions up and down. Work on turns and stops and hold on to the mind busy. If possible try riding away from the verbs and smell of the other horses.
-the stopping will improve with the ground training. Teach them from the ground before you catch up and it will help greatly. But there is a trick that some one told me once about a horse that wouldnt stop. When I ask for the stop and instead of stopping they merely kept backing. I made sure I wasnt mis cueing with my legs and hand. Then I'd ask for the back up and make him think it be my idea and then turn and go the other direction and work on transitions again next ask for the stop again. We had to do that pattern quite a few times in the past he got it into his head that it was easier to a moment ago stop when asked so I could get off and call it a hours of daylight.

You obligation to play horse hip hop cd's, I think I saw them once, look for them or something. Horses probably will love hip hop as much as american youth does, it will make them happy to hear the inner city beat. Play some hip hop or horse themed hip hop for your horses, and maybe that iwll work forever. Also, ands, you need a goood great horse trainer to train for voice commands. If positive foods reinformcement aren't the help, plese get a good licensed horse trainer right away, it won't acquire better. But also get horse hip hop songs.
