Horse rugs driving me silly?! Rambo, Rhino, NIKSI??

Right one of the new cobby mares has just ripped her rug to beyond repair!
So very soon I have another question on rugs...
WHat is the difference between Rhino and Amigo rugs, is one better or what?
What do you think of them.
Also are rambos worth the money?

Here's the three rugs I'm wanting to know nearly...

Niksi- http://www.horserugheaven.co.uk/horse_ru...

Rambo- http://www.cybercheckout.co.uk/Items/930...

Rhino- http://www.cybercheckout.co.uk/Items/930...

Thanks for the time, which one is workth the money and which one would be best.
If you enjoy a destructive horse buy Rambo, trust me in toughness they are unmatched and they come with a 3 year guaranty if your horse manges to break it, hasn't happen to me yet. I did have a blanket loosen up a little surrounded by the seems, called the manufacture and get a new blanket sent to Zambia(the middle of nowhere) free of charge. My oldest rambo is 7 years old and has see some very destructive horses in it time, the iron is a little rusty but they isn't one gap in the outer skin.

Rhino is as fare as I remember also a horseware product(they make rambo and amigo as well) it great for horses that aren't particularly destructive and are taken within when it starts to rain. They get socked if departed out, something with the shin Design it's water resident not watter proff.

Amgo is a cheaper way to be in motion, they make fine blanket, but they don't use the ballistics fibers that you find in a Rambo, they do come 1200 fiber, so if your horses isn't destructive to their blankets they work fine.

Not very soon Niksi sorry, I only recommend you stick with at least 1200 fiber for turnout blanket cause sure they are water proff and stay fare away from WeatherBeeta, lol that's the worst blanket brand I've ever encounter. A slightly cheaper option to rambo, is bucas, they make some pretty tough blankets.
My friggen Arab is one and the same way. Her fat gut rips everything I put on her. I've resorted to duct cartridge (when practical, lets face it a duct tape blanket next to a few pieces of cotton and polyester interwoven just isn't going to work) and recently bought a pretty cheap waterproof sheet that I toss on over a crappy steady rug. She can rip the snot out of them both and its only about $30 for a new (used) one. I perceive your pain, I've spent SO much money on blankets in the past few years. Pretty soon I'm going to shift get an industrial tarp and line it with wool. :)
Hi

i own just had the similar problem - as mentioned above - go for rugs beside high denier - the higher the better and also if the horse lives out or is out for a long duration - preferably one that have an intergrated neck cover (detachable ones are crap) and also has at least 350grams of polyfill.

The best one i come across for the money is the Shires Stormcheeta - lb129 in the shops - though i found it on ebay for lb90 +p&p onwards. it has 2000 denier (wow) and 400 grams of polyfill. it is the best rug shires does. Rambo and Rhino etc look good but for lb150 - lb250 its not worth wasting the money for your horse to wreck it a week after that!

plus the shires one has a higher outer denier than the rambo/rhino and its cheaper!

also check out Ebay for rugs as alot of shops sell brand unmarked rugs on there for much cheaper than in shops/internet
I don't go so much on name brand as I do on Denier

I go beside nothing less than 1200 denier, its just a donor toy to my guys whether I try to.

I have bought cheaper non name brands with that denier and be fine also.

Good luck...I feel your pain
Answers:    Hi there

I think the Niksi one (whilst brilliantly named) is not very practical. Rambo rugs tend to be the best but you recompense a small fortune for them! My experience with Rambo rugs isn't brilliant, I would avoid them.

Try www.derbyhouse.co.uk and www.robinsons-uk.com

My horse is on box rest at the moment but when he isn't he lives out 24/7 so it's really important for my winter rugs to be the best at doing their job.

I get my medium weight turnout rug from www.tesco.com and I've had it for 12 months immediately and it's still in tact. I bought my heavyweight from Derby House's own brand and I've had that for 2 years and again, it's still as good as tentative. My horse has an irritating habit of pulling them off their rug railing and peeing and trampling on them when he gets bored and they have both stood the test of time.

Shop around as all right, you don't necessarily have to get the best brand.

Also try www.equestrianclearance.com for bargain brands!

:o)

i like weatherbeeta and fal rugs i think they are strongest
Never used Niksi but i have plenty of Rambo and Rhino Rugs and they enjoy both been good quality rugs. Its a shame when they verbs them :|

Hope i helped
i personally wouldnt acquire any of them. i would buy a cheaper one, as your mare has already ripped her rug beyond repair she could easliy do it again! and if you buy one over lb100 thats alot of money wasted whether she rips it! and also because she is a cobby horse, i wouldnt have thought she needed a really heavy turnout rug (i dont know where you live or whether your mare has been clipped) because they are quite a hardy breed beside good, thick fur. i would also get one next to rip-stop material in case she tries to rip it.

one approaching this:

however if she is clipped try one like this:

good luck!
