I involve to strectch my brand new leather boots?
I recently bought a pair of jodphur boots that are just for a while too small for me. The brand is Showcraft Masters. The last pair of this brand that I bought a few years ago were a short time too big for me, and they stretched out so much that they ended up much too big for me. So this time around I bought a pair that were a bit on the small side, thinking they would stretch out and fit nicely. However, whilst wearing them and trying to break them in, I have concluded up with massive blisters. Hence, I am looking for alternative ways to stretch them that don't involve sore feet. And this is where you guys come within :) Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Warm dampen isn't necessary. Just wet them from the inside, it absorbs better that opening, and ride or walk them dry. Providing that the weather there isn't as cold as sunny FL. Brrrr, shiver. . .
Take the boots to a shoe repair shop and enlighten the proprietor exactly what you've said here. If the boots can be stretched without damaging them, they will know how to do it here.
The problem near some of the do-it-yourself remedies that other people are suggesting is that if you aren't careful, you can despoil the leather or the construction of the boots. Much better to go to a professional and spend a few dollars to have it done watchfully by someone with the materials and tools to do it right.
my dad was in the army and he used to dampen rag, roll or scrunch it into realy tight balls then stuff as many as he could into his boots, he swears by it but ive never tried this myself
Shoe repair stores will carry a product called "stretch" you can use it beside the boot trees or just wet the boot down inside and out with it and wear it and wander until they are dry.
It is mostly alchol and you can use rubbing alchol in place of the stretch. But if the leather is light colored it may stain it so be wary with light tan leathers.
When I bought a pair of boots years ago, the boot store had a boot stretcher on appendage. You put it down in the boot and it stretches them. You can buy them online, but you may consider visiting where you get your boots and ask them if they can stretch your boots for you. If you didn't buy them at a store, maybe just try to totter in to a store and ask them. The clerks may be willing to help out whether they are not busy.
Yeah, tailors / shoe repair places also hold stretchers, too. I had the calf part of my tall boots stretched approaching that once too.
Answers: Two tips for you, when my husband was in the army they used to completely soak their boots with thaw out water inside and out and then wear them until almost dry, or pack the boots really tightly near wet (not too wet) newspaper and leave to dry.
