If i want to become a horse handler what are some things i should start doing?
like help out at horse riding schools.e.t.c?
even subject i may necessitate to learn, that will help me.
like biolagy.
thankfulness.
work with as many types as horses as possible. this will prepare you for any unexpected travels. ;-)
The most influential thing is to learn, learn, swot up. Depending on what type of handling you want to do (Working as a wrangler, a horse trainer, a riding instructor etc) you need to gain an excellent knowledge of how horses behave (and their people too!).
Definitely minister to at a riding school - mucking out, feeding, learning everything you can. If you are not riding already, start.
In vocabulary of subjects many handlers are not well 'educated' within the academic sense, but taking horse classes about feeding, training etc would relieve. Biology would be good, but more importantly, maths to work out budgets etc and work on people skills as all horses own owners, riders etc and they can be harder work that the horses!
Answers: Well my suggestion is to visit your nearest Horse Rescue 100% of the time they operate with volunteers. Grooming ,Feeding, Bathing, Brushing, loading horses in trailers and trainers training them to walk to good homes. I believe this is the best and cheapest way to learn.. whether you send me your state I can connect you with a rescue near you or you can call round our site which runs a program rewarding horse rescues with funds to operate when funds are low at www.SaveDaHorses.org hope this helps
well horse handling isnt somthing u can learn at university u have to work up the tower u would go to an tafe and take a curse to attain qualifcatiosn for being stable hand etc after u would wokr as that job for a while then go wager on the school u can always do the curse in one pice but its alot of money
also spending time around horse [not riding] resembling caring and picking out dises etc will help u priory to the curse to help u figure out
lafter u get ur frist curse done then u can learn to ride so next u can become and instrutor u can ride b4 that but its not all about the riding
You need to know how to ride, learn all just about the different breeds, how to take minimal care of them, about nurture, tack and all the other incidental things involved with horses.
There are many books available that you can read and study.
If near are stables near you, you may be able to volunteer to help
(and learn). Possibly volunteer at a vet that specializes surrounded by horse care.
There are many clubs and organizations you could look into.
Go on stripe and check out all the different resources.
Animal Husbandry is a subject to check on.
You may also want to see if there is a local equine vet that you might be capable of "junior apprentice" for sometimes.
experiance for sure , and alot of know-how about everything about horses , take a Perilli course , to be exact about naturall horsemanship .
