Leaving horse for 2 weeks?? (going on holz)?

is it ok to leave a horse turned out for 2 weeks this summer as i'm going away.
its at a riding stable so she'll still be feed 2x a day and there will b supervision as the owner lives on the property.
is it ok to let a horse enjoy such a long break from riding..and well me the owner :/

thanks
They should be fine to go that long short exorcise. Just be careful that when you come back, you don't immediately a short time ago pick up where you left off. When you find back, lunge them, and work on the ground for a the first day or two.
after a day or two of ground exorcises, you can ride.
Also, don't only expect your horse to be completely responsive, and remember everything that you did before you left. That would be very unconscious, for your horse has been sitting around doing nothing for 2 weeks, apart from eating and going to the bathroom.
Good luck!

I'd articulate that would be fine as long as you trust that the person you are leaving in charge of it will nurture and water it and look after it ( not that you would leave your horse with someone who wouldnt). Make certain they have your number though in case your horse become sick, injured etc.

In case of riding, it shouldnt matter that it gets a rest ( and you too) but whether you are worried about your horse not getting ridden you could get someone you know to work your horse for you.
As long as someone will be checking him twice a day, and giving him a squirt of fly spray when it get particularly warm and the flies are out in force later I can't see a problem.

Your horse will probably enjoy being turned away from work for 2 weeks. I don't believe that this will affect his training programme too much.

:o) x
She should be perfectly fine. As you said, the owner of the stables will be there constantly, so whether there is a problem it should be taken care of. The only piece is, ask if they can give her a spritz of fly spray when it's quite melt and/or change the fly mask when needed & summer rugs.

Depending on how often you normally ride, she should be fine with that too. Whether you only ride a couple of times a week, or everyday, your horse will be used to being ridden/used to individual left without riding for periods of time.

When you seize back, start work slowly. Tack her up and see how she feels about that, whether there's any difference in her attitude, let her adjust before getting on. Perhaps lunge her whether she is over-excited or jumpy. In an enclosed area, of late walk her until you feel comfortable that she isn't going to play up. Trot and then canter at impossible to tell apart comfort feelings. Make sure she is listen to you and don't forget she hasn't seen you in a while and may have difficulty getting stern into certain habits.

Two weeks isn't a very long time, sometimes I can't catch down to mine for three weeks at a time but he just comes in, does his work like every other time, and go out again as happy as pie.

Hope that helps you! (:
yes of course, as long as you have someone trustworthy to check on your horse at lowest possible once a day then it is fine to do so.
Enjoy your holiday
Yes, your horse will be fine. As long as within is someone to check on him twice a day and make sure he have plenty of water and food you don't have anything to worry in the order of. My horses often go much longer than two weeks between rides and I've never had a problem next to any of them.
Answers:    I have done this plenty of times over the years.

What I would do is trade name sure the the pasture is inspected often to make certain no poisonious plants are growing.

I would make sure that she is getting proper feeding.

Is other horses turned out contained by this area as well? If so, does your horse get along near these horses?

If no horses, will your horse be fine being "alone"?

Keep a list of medications practical (swat, wrapping, etc) so incase an emergancy, people can doctor your horse with out you repaying them for the supplies they had to use of their own/bought.

Does this turn out enjoy cover incase it rains, sun shine, snows?

Blankets for winter?

Keep the preference vets contact numbers next to the owner of the property and post it at the gate where the horse will be. (so incase the owner isn't around, someone else would be able to telephone call the vet).

Have a list of at least 3 vets incase A or B vet is not available.

Your horse will be fine person turned out, can move around, walk and won't have a big set back when you return. It is those barn horses who are within a 12X12 stall for the two weeks with no turn out, can have a set back.
your horse should be fine,There more than happy to be out rather than stabled stops legs swelling to etc, Always enjoy your vets number were everyone can find it quickly tho in recent times in case, Go and relax dont spend all ur break worrying adjectives the while.x
Looks like your both gonna have a holiday. Horses should have a break a short time ago like humans. Just make sure the owner of the property have your permission to call a vet should the need occur, and a contact number, otherwise she will be fine, enjoy your holiday.
It's probably fine... as long as you trust your horse's caretaker(s).
