Moving to rough board! Need some assistance...?
I'm going to switch to rough board...and I need to supply everything.
I am aware that I will need to purchase my own grain, bedding and hay...but what other supplies will I call for and where can I get it?
I can't seem to find any apposite grain containers...
You can also agree to some other people who board there about buying supplies together. The more of something (hay, small piece, etc) you buy at a time, the less you pay for it! Just make certain you're clear about dividing the goods when they arrive.
If you mean grains BINS, next just pop down to the local hardware store or something and grab a couple or random bin things.
Depending on what sort of board you'll be using, you might enjoy to get all the stuff used for mucking out, etc. But maybe they'll provide that sort of article. Better make sure, in any baggage ;)
Go to regular horse shops to get most stuff. 'Horseland' is one in Australia, but I dunno about USA and stuff.
Good luck.
find out where your patio gets their grain from and maybe take the supplies number so your horse's diet doesn't really change. the same hay and bedding would also be a good view because its already been tried and tested and you will know if its of good talent.
be picky wiht the typ eof hay u get =]
the container basically a simple plastic barrel to keep mice out and u can use an old freezer and merely keep it at ur home and bring a bucket out u will also need a feed bucket one that hangs on wall =] u should have a frist aid kit and a moment ago all these little thing =]
Answers: Feed - Produce Store
Bedding - Look around for quality stuff not dodgy saw dust (can contain harm full stuff)
Hay - Again produce store or look around for add
I'll post more when I think of something else
ur gonna need all u grooming supplies, somewhere to keep the crumb and things, buckets and things to feed out of, maybe a hay rack
thats all i could conjecture of
