Questions in the order of gallop?

I'm pretty sure i'm going to learn to gallop in these subsequent couple of months. How hard is it? I think i'll do it in a western saddle first (even though i ride english) to relief me.
Thanks
it is the best sensation in the world it is so much fun and most horses luv it i know my gurl goes crazy i have to encounter her to stop and she is always prancing after it helps if u stand up surrounded by the sturrups a little use ur knees as shocks and if ur bare spinal column witch i luv even more lean forward hold mane and enjoy the ride
It's really not that hard. I galloped the first time in an english saddle, and to convey you the truth, if you aren't ready to gallop in a english saddle, you shouldn't try it western any. As long as you are confident at the canter, the gallop should be no problem. It takes horses a little longer to come back from the gallop because they are going faster, and you can really touch the power of the horse under you. Just make sure you don't verbs on their mouth or kick them a lot because this can piss them off. You should also variety sure you get in your 2-point(a western saddle could also wreak problems there). I love galloping though. As long as you have control of your horses, and you are confident, its a major thrill.
Answers:    Galloping is not too different from the canter when you look at it, but riding it is a completely different experience. I actually prefer to do it in an English saddle because generally you will want to move about up into a galloping seat (you know, like the jockeys do...lone not so extreme). For the much more controlled gallops, it is like a two point.

Teeny picture, but you get the hypothesis

The first picture is the western version. See, same idea. But English feels cleaner and more put together to me. Western make it harder to get into position because of the long stirrups and the horn is going to be tempting to grab onto..which most probable will throw you off balance because now you are relying on you foot to hold you down instead of your thighs.

Best of luck!

I was first skilled to gallop on a beach...it was actually by mistake. I be training a pony (this pony was the kind that would rear when the saddle wipe hit its back...) She was fine and then a fisherman pattern and...yeah. But it was completely natural. You just procure into a half seat and go next to the flow, but stay alret. Be like a cat on a windowsill, completely relaxed but ready to spring up at any moment. Actually you should be like that the entire time you are riding!!

Good Luck!! Happy Riding!!

gallop is just like cantering, it's only a little faster and the rhythm is different. You can't sit the gallop, so get up off your horses stern in a two point or half seat, which vehicle you should strengthen your legs to hold you in the saddle.
Do some no stirrups work and lunges/jogging to build up your muscle so you can gallop for longer periods of time.
You won't be quite used to the rythem ayt first, but it's pretty much just a hurried canter. And yes, its a lot easier in a western saddle!
