To inhabitants who sector lease a horse. . .?
I will be part leasing a pony in January. . .
How often do you walk ride?
How often do you go groom/spend time with your horse (not riding)?
How long do you ride for?
And what other fun comings and goings than (riding, grooming, spending time with your horse) do you do?
Thanks
it depends on the owner. I'd influence to expect a couple days out of the week sounds about right.
be sure to ask what you can and cant do
such as take them out on walk or shows or anything like that. its really between you and the owner.
how long you ride for is up to the hours your allowed to be at the barn. concider time to groom and tack up and putting away time. and how fit the horse is and how long you can stand the cold ;)
if you are a learner have someone go with you when you budge out there. preferably someone who also goes to that barn and knows the rules near.
It's going to differ from person to person, but usually a partial lease entail 3 days of riding per week. You could spend as much time with the horse as you want, but keep in intellect that when the other part-lease person is having their time, you need to step stern and let them have it. You could ride the horse for 20 minutes or 3 hours, depending on what you're doing. Go on a loooong trail ride or do a short, intense hack, or take a 1/2 hour or 1 hour lesson? But work out the details prior to starting the lease so you know what to expect.
I don't lease, but I pinch care of some horses. I love to braid their main and tail, groom them a lot so they pretty, and ride bareback around the stables (not contained by the ring) if your place has a pasture, walk your horse out within and let her graze. Just get to know the horse better by spending a lot of time beside her.
I usually ride for an hour in the arena then jump on the trail for an hour or two.
I ride my leased horse 3 days a week.
I am allowed to spend as much time with him as I want (if he doesn't have any module because he is a lesson horse)
I usually ride for about an hour and a half. It depends on how heaps times the horse has been ridden, though. If he is used in a lesson once that hours of daylight, I only ride for an hour.
For fun activities, I go on trail rides and hold barrel racing competitions with my friends.
Well, I full lease my horse.. but the lady has alot of horses that I juts budge ride whenever.
But as of my horse.. I can ride her anyday of the week (since no one else rides her, she's pretty green) and I'm getting ready to start showing her. I usually be in motion about 23 times aweek. I go once during the schooldays, and everyday over the weekend for about the majority of the days.
I spend alot of time beside my horse other than riding, just because like I said be fore she is green. A central part of getting to know and trust your horse and visa versa. If you want them to listen and flow with you and your style ion the ring, you need to capture to know eachother on the ground too. I spend atleast an hour before I ride her with her, just brushing or playing aroudn next to her.. sometimes I'll even walk her to this huge feild nearby and let her graze for a long time.
When I ride, it adjectives depends on the day, weather, her attitude, ect. Sometimes I'll ride for an hour, other time only a half hour. Sometimes whether we are trailing I ride for 3-4 hours. It all depends on the days. It's good to work variety though too, somedays we singular do walk/trot. Other days we do courses of 3ft. haha
Other than all that, there are plenty of fun things to do with your horse. Have you hear of 4-H? That's a great way to learn, experience and grown with horses and your own ability. Also showing, schooling shows, and fun shows all are fun thigns to do. During halloween, our barn has a halloween party next goes in town and rides in the town show.. there are sooo many things to do with your horse.
Just brand sure you have the time to spend with it, otherwise it's a idle away of money. (:
Good luck!
i lease one horse but the lady has like four so i ride adjectives of them :)
i ride either 1-2 times on the weekend but its far away, i groom as long as it takes :) someones i spend additional time brushing the main, or giving hate horse a bath, i at tiniest an hour i've also gone on all day long trail and had to bring lunch :).. i also win to desensitize the horse mean exposing him to scare objects so he'll be more bombproof its really fun, i also lounge them, feed them, and verbs their stalls but i wouldn't consider the last one fun ha ha
Answers: Well, I part lease a Welsh Cob called Tubby. His owners agist him where on earth I started taking my english lessons, he's not a lesson horse, he's actually a very considerable pain in the butt but he's adorable. His owners ( a set of twins who lease my intructors horse ) don't get down to him adequate so I offered to work him etc.
I get down to him about two times a week, three if I'm extremely lucky. I'll spend more time playing near him and grooming him than riding but it's still good. I spend about an hour and a half minimum down here each time, and only about partially an hour of riding etc.
I don't always do arena work, sometimes I lunge him when noone else is there (insurance reasons), I play games with the other little girls at their barn because I'm not competitive but I set everything up and referee etc. Jumping, trotting poles, different circles and serpentines etc. and occasionally (if I whip him hard enough) a nice long canter.
Hope everything goes really powerfully for you. (:
i use 2 part lease but the otehr girl pulled out.
i rode on schedualled days and could c the horse on those days
3-4 times a week
could ride for as long as i liked.
