What is a suitable book in the order of horses, for a human being who know like mad in the order of horses already?
What I mean is not a starter book. More of a book for people who already know about horses and want to know more. Or things to suppose about. Or why horses are they way they are. ANYTHING like that. Please share me the title and author. Thanks!
The Encyclopedia of the Horse by Elwyn Hartley Edwards. It's around $30 for the hardback version. It's an excellent book, next to details about every breed you could think of, and it also includes information about horses throughout history.
I reflect on an invaluable book for all horse owners is the
Horse Owner's Veterinary Handbook by Giffin and Gore
I have also enjoyed
101 Schooling Exercises for Horse and Rider by Jaki Bell
A great book for starting and training is
Basic Training for Horses by Eleanor Prince and Gaydell Collier
For those interested within endurance riding a good book is
Go the Distance by Nancy Loving, DVM
Hope this helps you! I love horse books and training books and other enjoy getting a new one! Thanks for this topic!
horses for dummies is a good book also the ultimate horse book explains how to ride and hold care of your horse and also lists 240 breeds of horses
The Ponyclub manual are very good books. There are three different levels.
The first one is start horsemanship (D1-D3 level)
The second one is intermediate horsemanship (C1-C3 level)
The third one is advanced horsemanship (B/A)
The Complete Horse-Riding Manual by William Micklem.
The American Jumping Style by George Morris.

Answers: Horses and Horsemanship, M. E. Ensminger. Ensminger literally wrote the textbook on horse care, breeding and feeding. This is not a book about riding; it is a book nearly taking care of horses and breeding horses.
Feeds and Feeding, Frank Morrison. This is THE book to get if you want to know in the order of the nutritional content of feedstuffs, calculating the correct amount to feed a horse, nutrient requirements of horses, what the information on a feed label means and how it is calculated. If you go on to study horses at the college level, this is one of the textbook you will use.
If you have any curiousity at all about the origins of the Thoroughbred breed and roughly speaking the specific horses and bloodlines, and learn a lot about American history too, The History of Thoroughbred Racing contained by America, by William Robertson. This is a HUGE book, but it's indispensable if you want to know more about Thoroughbreds.
Not a book, but a periodical: The Horse magazine. This is a sister publication of The Blood-Horse magazine, and is devoted to form care, nutrition and breeding issues. It's website gives you some idea of what kind of things you will find in the magazine. http://www.thehorse.com/ It's a great publication, well above the level of the popular magazine like Equus but not quite at the level of some of the veterinary exact publications available.
For anyone who is interested in the early history of the Arabian horse breed, I highly recommend Lady Anne Blunt: A Biography by H. V. F. Winstone. Lady Anne be the founder of Crabbet Park Stud in England, one of the earliest English/European studs to breed Arabians as a pure breed, rather than using them to cross with local horses. Lady Anne Blunt is a engrossing figure in her own right and I'm amazed that no one have ever tried to make a movie based on her vivacity. (Wikipedia has an entry on Lady Anne Blunt, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lady_Anne_B... that doesn't begin to do justice to her.)
