What is Parelli ?
Is it like...an object or some type of riding?
Gosh, I sound so dumb. xD
OMG Capt. Crap, you are SO wrong about Parelli.
He is not mildly attractive. He's an shocking old git. Everything else was spot on ;)
Pat Parelli is a master horseman who promotes safety with horses and their owners. He teaches contained by many countries and is a promoter for the welfare and improvement of relationships between horses and humans. His efforts are to ultimately boost the life of horses. He has training centers in Colorado and Florida but travels the sphere. Using the Parelli techniques can enable you to accomplish any dream you want with your horse. The relationship can be amazing if you just "take it".
Answers: Parelli market "natural horsemanship" which, in my opinion, is a nouns of cat dirt. If you want to teach your horse to become a dog, follow dangerous riding, and never actually ride your horse until you've spent over $4,000 surrounded by videos, books, and "tools" over the past 4+ years, then he sounds wonderful.
But, I prefer have a horse that is a partner, one I can rely on, not some horse that when I walk up to him, he lays down or twirls or do silly circus tricks.
His marketing is nearly flawless, however, "colloquial horsemanship", is just that, marketing. The moment we so much as we take a horse out of its natural environment, it is no longer "natural" and, within my opinion, there is nothing "natural" in the region of riding horses. And to get the assumption that this is the "first person" to promote this "natural horsemanship", all you hold to do is look to the older generation riders, they follow more Natural Horsemanship than Parelli, at least... that's my evaluation.
Pat and Linda Parelli are one of the greatest horsepeole to walk this earth. he's studied horses from their point of view adjectives his life. He teaches you how to think and deed like a horse. Alot of people think that his methods don't work because they don't want to lug the time, money, and patients to learn his teachings. I know first hand that they truly honestly work. I went from gag bits, tie downs, and lunging for hours up to that time I could even step foot in the saddle, to riding bareback and bridless in a rodeo queens competitions. (we won runner up btw) honestly, if you're thinking something like doing parelli, I'll tell you now, if you don't expect that you have time, or are willing to spend the money for his dvds then don't even idle away your time. me and my horse have been doing parelli for three years now and still enjoy much to learn. but if you want one day to take home your horse doing a sliding stop, or jump over benches with only using leg pressure, no bridle, no reins, nil, and amaze everyone that watches you ride, then parelli is definitely your best bet.
and btw, pat parelli himself says that he's not a horse shush. everything that he does he shares with the public so he can make the world a better place for horses and they're people. correct luck. i hope you decide to join us parelli fans!!
Wiki's definition of Parelli is this:
Pat Parelli is a mildly attractive middle aged man with huge handlebar mustache. He made his fortune by scamming people into paying hundreds for DVDs, long cattle sticks next to a string that he chooses to market as "carrot stick", and pimping himself out to RFD-TV along with his wife that is mode out of his league. Those who participate in Parelli methods might not find themselves spending as much time in the saddle as they will find themselves acting close to a dofus on ground swinging their $100 stick and string while asking their horse to jump over cow patterned barrels and chasing after a large red or green orb. After Parelli you might find it difficult to sell your horse or to even be able to hold your head large at a show full of real horsemen that aren't shaking a stick to make their horse dance or do irrelevant tasks.

If you are wondering who wrote Parelli's Wiki profile- it be me ;)
not what, but who... Pat Parelli is a professional horseman. Go to www.parelli.com and you will find out adjectives about him and what he does :)
LOLOLOLOL Crapadoodle!
THAT is the correct answer - that and Solstice's. :)
its a method of natural horsemanship
ancestors learn to ride with no bridle
but im a little skeptic on whether it works or not
Great concept (man and horse individual one) - crappy reality (pay me more than you than paid for you horse for basic exercises). I am an angry angry entity at Parelli, as they sell this fantastic idea of person one with your horse and understanding their unique 'horseinality', but restricting this impression to all but those with money . Look to Mark Rashid etc to make the belief of being a horseMAN a realistic ideal!
hes a "horse whisperer" but i truly dont think his methods work.
