What is that call? 10 pts best answer?
okay so i remember someone telling me that its called something when you inject a horses tail with alcohol and it damages the nerves or something and it prevents a horse from showing resistance while anyone ridden because they can't move their tail. What is that called?
P.S. I'm not saying I would EVER do that to one of my horses, I just want to know what it's call.
Thanks.

It's called different things by different people. Stupidity, Cheating, Cruelty, get the picture?
Because it is a "losing the barn" illegal procedure, I don't think it really has a identify. It us usually called "doing" a tail, as in "Has your horse have his tail done, are you going to do his tail?" Some people call it nerving, but that sounds more like adjectives the nerves.
You are right, it is one of the more horrible things that people will do in search of win.

Information on tail blocking, or "nerving"...newly done "blocked" tails are easy to spot within the show pen..they'll flop and you'll hear the "pop" noise as the horse moves down the rail at a show. Seemingly the horse is unable to swish it's tail from side to side but it is competent to raise it's tail somewhat and then drop it. As the block gets somewhat age on it the horse's tail will appear to hang a little more naturally from it's body.
You'll NOT find exhibitors discussion openly about having have their horses' tail blocked..The AQHA hands out stiff penalties if they discover a horse within the show pen that has recently had it's tail blocked.
That is horrible
