Which would you use (for tub racing) (spur rowels)?

Don't use rowel spurs for barrel racing. Your horse should be excited to see and you shouldn't have to urge him along. Use small spurs if necessary. When I did barrels, I NEVER used spurs.
Are you kidding? Spurs are used for lateral movement of your horse, NOT impulsion. Anyone who does not know that should not wear spurs. I've seen the "barrel people" slam their horse's sides from 90 degree. How horribly cruel and unbelievably ignorant. Dont' go there. Have you ever given a thought to how your horse feel about that? Do you understand how sensitive a horse is? If you can't get your horse to move forward lacking causing him physcial damage, move on to something else.
For barrel race don't you use bumper spurs?
I think that is what a lot of container racers use
Here's a picture of them:

I don't know if they work well, but just a thought.
use the sharp pointy ones.
while you are at it, get a big gigantic mouthpiece contraption that is designed for more power stopping or turning and will literally rip right thru your horses mouth, tongue, bar, and lips.
you'll be in the action of kicking and urging your horse on, you'll never awareness how much you are actually hurting him, its all for fun, right?
yeah, cowboy/cowgirl up.
stop asking more or less the dang spur rowels! this is the 3rd one no offence!
ok i bull ride the 1st one is for bronc riding and the 3rd rowel is for bull riding, u dont want the 3rd one it will cut up ur horse skin pretty desperate and i forgot to say the middle one i dont know what that for its not for bronc riding
None of them. Spurs are meant to ask for impulsion from your horse, not speed. I won at barrels within a snaffle bit with no whip and no spurs.
None, you shouldn't requirement to use spurs your horse should be speedy enough to be able to go next to leg commands. If you really do need to use spurs then win some very blunt, dull ones.
Number 2 .. but with the sole purpose if you are skilled enough to use them properly.
I am a barrel racer and i use spurs on some horses. I totally rarely have to use them .. but have them in that if i need to. I show all my horses within them .. just because i ride my first string horse with spurs and they are a PITA to take past its sell-by date between horses.
The only people who think spurs are cruel are the ones who own no idea how to properly use them.
Use the middle set. The other spur rowels are made more for griping in such events as bronc or bullriding.
Answers: None.. because I wouldn't worry about spurs when I can properly train my horse first.
If I did... blunt end spurs work only fine.
