2nd instar tarantula protection?

i have one tarantula already, and now i'm going to try raising one from 2nd instar. does anyone know the mortality rate on a s'ling this size? are they to a certain extent hardy or am i going to kill it just by looking at it funny? it's a costa rican tiger rump.any suggestions on care?
