Any one own a Labrador Retriever?
My husband and I have a 1 year old black mouth Cur, and we want to get a current dog to play with her, and have a new friend. We really own our hearts set on a Lab. Anyone have one? Are they good dogs? Do they go and get along well with other dogs?
Yes, Labrador Retrievers are notoriously mild-mannered and love to play, so they get along GREAT with other pets and are especially appropriate with children.
Once you buy a lab you will never again buy another breed. Easily trainable...very loyal...I have a black lab named Angus. A chiwawa (I'm really sorry cant seem to be to spell right now its getting late) could beat Angus up he is so submissive. Super sweet. Believes he is a lap dog.merely problem with that is...he believes be belongs in your knees. Defiantly go for it.dream dog.
We had a cat a while back name boo. she was a Siamese tabby cross and you could always watch them playing together. Boo have to be put down because she had liver problems...Anyways once she was gone he always go from room to room looking for her. It was sad so we had to progress and buy a couple kittens...lol. now he has his pets.
The lab we had back Angus...his name was buddy. He was so protective...up to that time he went to bed he went into all the kids rooms to check and label sure everyone was OK.
The only problem is swimming. They believe once you are contained by the middle of a lake or a river that you must be in great peril and so have no choice other after to come swimming up to you to save you from drowning. Angus even launches himself off 4ft rock cliffs into the marine to swim up to you. After he reaches you he will swim in circles until you grab he collar
and tolerate him tow you to shore.
Angus goes to the job site everyday with me and my dad...he's the guard dog. He is so suitable because he has a deep bark.but anyone who in fact knows him knows the only defile he would actually do is lick you to death.
Answers: yes they are great dogs i have a sickly lab they get along great with other dogs once they get used to respectively other i dont have another dog but when i take mine for a walk he requirements to be every dogs and cats friend good watch dog to he will protect u with his duration mine is always around me and when i go outside he is other by me trying to protect me it gets a little annoying but i know he is just doing his chore and that he loves me
