Anyone ever use peppermint grease to rid their house of mice? If so, did it work?
Never.sorry i could not help
Pure peppermint or cinnamon oil will work. Mothballs also work economically.
Bait your traps with peanut butter. I've never known a mouse to resist it.
Make sure once they are gone you plug up any holes within your home's foundation and walls the size of a quarter or larger with steel wool.
I heard they really detestation the smell of mint so I tried leaving blobs of toothpaste here and there, didn't seem to bother them much. Got some rat poison instead. That worked.
THAT IS A VERY , VERY, VERY, OLD RECEIPE, MY MOM USED TO TALK ABOUT IT BUT I NEVER TRIED IT, BUT IT SHOULD WORK AS THEY REALLY DONT LIKE THE SMELL OF IT,...I PREFER A REGULAR MOUSE TRAP WITH A BIT OF BACON ATTACHED..
Answers: Yes, and this is the method that I advocate to others who are interested in organic pest control. Make certain it is real peppermint oil, though, as some of the other stuff isn't effective.
Peppermint grease is very irritating to a mouse's digestive system and they will avoid it. This also applies to many other rodents, including chipmunks. Not advisable to use this if you own pet rodents, though.
For an indoor spray, mix peppermint essential oil and water into a spray bottle and mist around baseboards (make certain you apply liberally in the kitchen area!)
I also produce natural potpourris from dried herbs that we grow on our farm. I use dried peppermint within most and keep baskets of it around the house. I even relocated some black peppermint plants near the front steps, because I had a colony of chipmunks taking over. It worked enormously effectively in getting them to relocate.
In addition, you can help "mouse-proof" your domestic with steel wool. Any gaps or spacing around pipes, such as the plumbing under your kitchen sink, can be stuffed beside steel wool. Mice won't try to pull it out, and this is often an entry point for them.
We have a 120-year mature farmhouse, and I haven't had a mouse in here contained by nearly two years.
BTW, coconut oil helps repel spiders!
SORRY can not give support to
My family and I did and it worked as long as the oil smell be VERY strong. We live on a farm and so we have allot of mice. But the main style we keep mice out is to make sure that me pick up stuff and do not make tracks any opened containers around. Plus our 5 cats help too, lol.
